GUIDANCE FOR MAKING AN APPLICATION

We have different categories of applications that you can apply through us. Please look at he list below and read the comments column for actions that is required of you. If you are having any challenges please email info@maxme.org with a detailed explanation of what you were doing, which university if applicable, what you are trying to apply for, exactly what challenge you are having, any error messages and any relevant information. One of our staff will be in touch to give you guidance on how to overcome the challenge. If we need further assistance from the institution we would let you what action we have taken and get back to you as soon as we have the required information.

APPLICATION	GUIDELINES
Research to any of the Universities	It is advisable that you contact potential supervisor in the department of your discipline, You can find who your potential supervisor will be by checking the University website and browse through the academic staff list you will be able to see their research interest. If you are not sure send an email info@maxme.org and with your proposed research discipline. We should be able to suggest a potential supervisor to you. Once your potential supervisor confirms an interest in your research you can start the online application process. It is important you let our Information Consultant proof read your application before submission. You would have gotten a direct contact to him once you register with us. If no interest is shown on you research our Information Consultant can make further contact for you to establish a potential supervisor for you. MaxMe will monitor your application with the University and make contacts with admission office on your behalf if necessary. We will give you any update report by email as soon as we have it.
Post Graduate to any of the Universities	This involves starting your application online on the preferred University course page. Once you register with us at MaxMe you will have a direct contact to our Information Consultant. He will guide you with your personal statement and knowledge and skills statement. This does take sometime as you and the Information Consultant may have to exchange series of email prior to approval of the final version to be copied and pasted into your online form. You will be advised to apply to at least another University with a similar course, so that you have a backup in case your 1st choice University rejects yours application. The Information Consultant will guide you with minor changes to your statements prior to submission. MaxMe will monitor all your applications with the Universities and make contacts with admission offices on your behalf if necessary. We will give you any update report by email as soon as we have it.
Undergraduate through UCAS	Once an under graduate aspirants contact us we will work with you to establish that at least one of our Universities offer the course that you are interested. Once we establish that we get you to register with us. You have to initiate your application through Universities and Colleges Admission Services (UCAS). Once you initiate the application on UCAS website. You will be given a direct contact to our Information Consultant. He will guide you with your personal statement and knowledge and skills statement. This does take sometime as you and the Information Consultant may have to exchange series of email prior to approval of the final version to be copied and pasted into your online form. We appreciate that parents or another adult may be involved in the process. We will gladly work with one appointed adult in addition to the student. Our Information Consultant will notify the appropriate University of a potential International candidate. Once a UCAS offer is made this candidate will be notified by UCAS. We require you keep us informed of any update from UCAS or your University and we will do the same for any liaison we do on your behalf. If you are awaiting any result please notify us of expected date and we will keep the University informed on your behalf. We realise that you may have to choose Universities that we do not represent as one of your choices. We would be glad to work with you on your personal statements. However we will not be able to liaise with such University on your behalf.
Late UCAS for Undergraduate	The same process as above except that your application will go through UCAS.
Undergraduate Foundation Courses at the University of Edinburgh	Same process as UCAS above for general information on Edinburgh Foundation course click here.
Undergraduate Foundation Courses at the Queen Margaret University	QMU welcome applications by mature students from for most of their courses. Each application is assessed on its individual merits. Please check the QMU website for their Undergraduate courses and if you see any course you would like to apply for for a foundation course please email info@maxme.org and tell relevant qualifications and/or experience you will want to use for the application. You could be offer a place in any of the Undergraduate level.
Undergraduate Foundation Courses at the Heriot Watt University	This is called the The Undergraduate Certificate it combines academic modules, study skills and English language training, qualifying students to meet the challenges of degree-level study at the University. On successful completion, students can progress directly on to the second year of a degree. To apply please click here.
Application for Transfer of course to any of the Universities	Each application is assessed on its individual merits. It is advisable that you check the University website and browse through the course list you. If you see course similar to what you already doing then send an email to info@maxme.org with our university course details and detailed information on the course you want to transfer from. We will need to send a scanned copy of your results. Our Information Consultant will make contact on your behalf to establish if the University will accept your transfer and the level you will be admitted into. MaxMe will monitor your application with the University and make contacts with admission office on your behalf if necessary. We will give you any update report by email as soon as we have it.
HND or 3rd to any of the Universities	Each application is assessed on its individual merits. It is advisable that you check the University website and browse through the course list you. If you see course similar to what you have done then send an email to info@maxme.org with our university course details and detailed information on the course you have completed. We will need to send a scanned copy of your results or transcript. Our Information Consultant will make contact on your behalf to establish if the University will accept your transfer and the level you will be admitted into. MaxMe will monitor your application with the University and make contacts with admission office on your behalf if necessary. We will give you any update report by email as soon as we have it.
Pre-Masters to Heriot Watt University	International students who would like to study on a postgraduate course at Heriot-Watt University but do not meet the direct entry requirements for a masters degree or who simply want to refresh their knowledge can study the Pre-Masters programme at the International Study Centre. Scholarships	Once you are registered with MaxMe we will provide you information on: University of Edinburgh Principal's Scholarships A-Z of Scholarship Source Parents Guide Scholarship funds Sources of Funding for International Students We will also guide you with the scholarship application to give you the best chance of a successful application. Please note most scholarships provider expect you to have a potential admission prior to application. Most of the scholarship application have a deadline as early as February prior to starting the course in September. So if you will be considering scholarship you should be starting your application as early as October/November.
UKBA Tier 4 Visa	The process of visa application will start once the University issue you with a Certificate of Acceptance of Studies (CAS). The Tier4 application information and forms are available on the UKBA website. MaxMe will guide you through your visa application form filling and proof read the application prior to submission. University Accommodation in any of the Universities	For any of the Universities accommodation please check the University website link to accommodation. You can contact the MaxMe Information Consultant if you need a guidance in the choice of your accommodation. He is very familiar with most of the Universities accommodation.
Non-University Accommodation	If you require assistance securing accommodation outside of the University please make your intention known to the MaxMe Information Consultant. He will guide you in the choice of location and if necessary arrange flat sharing or lodging for you.
Jobs	If you are interested in part-time jobs while you are studying. Please discuss with the Information. He will be able to give you the best links and advise on job hunting. This is best done when you get to Edinburgh. The Information Consultant will also make a one-to-one appointment when you get to Edinburgh to discuss tips peculiar to finding your post qualification jobs. You could contact him once you are in Edinburgh to make an appointment with him in one of his frequent visits to Edinburgh.
